Jeny Howorth’s works of art are like time capsules. A whole generation can relate to these images and the obsessive process of collecting and plastering pictures onto bedroom or study walls. This type of collecting behaviour and desire to be surrounded by images we felt a part of, exploded into our lives along with the music and culture we all adored.
We were children of post-war children and had memories of broken Britain in the 1970’s.
Through collecting cheap available images we could escape into the glamour of our personalised walls. Jeny has taken all of that memory and the behaviour of a generation and immortalised it into her iconic boxed collage works.
